Standards
 Several years ago, upon forming the
association, industry standards were developed and voted on for acceptance by the association. All known treestand
manufacturers, both members and non-members at that time, were contacted and furnished with the draft standards for review.
The standards were adopted at an annual meeting and two independent engineering testing companies (see below) were contracted
to certify that each product met or exceeded these TMA Standards. This is a continuous process and certification includes
the approval of a manufacturing quality control process by the manufacturer.
Only those standards that have been approved by TMA Members are being used for testing. However, since 2001,
ASTM (the American Society for Testing Materials) has also approved and
adopted 11 TMA standards. These standards have been approved by ASTM and are in the process of being updated to
current TMA Standards. Please see below for a listing of these standards: |
